Swan Valley Wedding Open Day 2017

Published on: July 28, 2017

We were thrilled to once again be a part of the Swan Valley Wedding Open Day this year.  This annual event is a sensational day when many wineries, breweries and restaurants throughout the Swan Valley throw open their doors and showcase their gorgeous venues, along with the services of some of Perth’s leading wedding suppliers.  With so many amazing venues and suppliers showcasing simultaneously, it’s a great opportunity for brides & grooms-to-be to meet their wedding “dream team” and the perfect chance for those of us in the industry to catch up with friends – new and old!  Not to mention, getting to stretch our creative wings and design our own display briefs, which for a stylist is like a dream come true!

This year we were once again at the beautiful Sandalford Winery, where we styled one of our favourite spaces, the Element Room.  It’s a fantastic room; light, bright & so versatile, we love dressing it up completely differently each year.  This year we decided to go for a dark, moody feel, picking up on the black accents in the room and, as predicted, it gave the room an intense sense of brooding elegance.

Set with a slate base, the table was topped with sleek black glassware and black crockery set upon a gold edged glass charger plate and framed by gold cutlery. The solid black Lila chairs were perfectly matched with the black embossed menus, which sat on top of a black flat-folded napkin.  The table was then finished with dark toned florals and a row of black taper candles in tall glass sleeves.  The table was perfectly completed by the four lavish black chandeliers that really gave the setting it’s wow factor.  Then a mesh backdrop covered in complimenting florals along with a gorgeous black three tier cake with gold leaf detail and deep red roses provided the backdrop for our stunning, dark Sandalford setting.

This year we were also invited to style the Mandoon Estate Function Room.  We were given the option of how much we wanted to style and of course we jumped at the change to style the entire room and we compiled an all-star cast of suppliers to help us pull our vision together.  We wanted to showcase a different look for Mandoon Estate, something a little more modern and on-trend, so we decided the best way to do that was to make every table a different theme.  In doing so, we designed 7 different looks for the room and as always, we planned each detail meticulously with the help of our amazing suppliers.

I won’t go into detail about each table look, you can see those for yourself… However, the highlights of the room included the fabulous matching decals on the dance floor, cake swing and bar. These gorgeous decals by Nestle & Porter were also used in the promotional material for the event which was a great way to subtly pull the theme through from start to finish – something we do with every one of our clients.  We showcased various lighting options by Micktric Events including the sophisticated crystal chandelier over one of our round table setttings and the more boho white shell chandelier above another.  The pink, blue and gold edged glassware supplied by Orielle looked amazing, it gave a real lift to the settings and proved to be very popular – we predict coloured glassware as a huge wedding trend this season!  Gorgeous seating, linen, cutlery, crockery and glassware options throughout from the incredible Hire Society and floral arrangements by Poppy’s Flowers tied each look together perfectly.

Thanks to both of these wonderful venues for inviting us to take over their function spaces, we really appreciate that you trust our visions enough to give us free reign over the styling of your rooms.

The hugest of thanks to the teams who helped us bring our visions to life!
